Check It Out

Ahhh, a friend borrowed this from the library.
For me.

It is something special, when another will look closely enough,
beyond the facade,
the mask,
the trying oh-so-hard to live up to others' expectations,
to see you how you really are,
and to say,

"you are something good."

Thanks to my friend.

Love it. There are several children's books out there that have amazing messages for grown-ups. One of my favorites is THE LION AND THE LITTLE RED BIRD by Elise Kleven.

Hope you're having a lovely weekend...

I remember when I decided to move to Montreal, my friend Celine gave me a book by Dr. Seuss called "Oh the Places You'll Go".

I was horribly jittery about moving so far...and it was a giggle and a pep talk all in one.
Sometimes kids books say things so much more clearly than grownup people can.

Love it.

And will read it.

Just wanted to say thanks for your thoughtful comments on my guilt trip.
I appreciate both what you said and the fact that you took the time to say it.
You made some points that I did indeed forget...and that eases my guilt somewhat.
Thanks so much.
You're a super blog-comment friend.
